Mozambique and Angola strengthen cooperation
The Minister of Exterior Affairs from the Republic of Angola is on a two day official visit to Mozambique from today from with the purpose of strengthening of friendship and cooperation relationships between the two countries.
UEM and MTC sign a Cooperation Agreement
Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MTC) sign this afternoon in Maputo a Memorandum of Understanding foreseeing cooperation relationship establishment between two parties.
The objective of the Memorandum is the promotion of scientific technologic and innovation development survey as well as the strategic development of the human resources.
The Memorandum will be signed by Filipe Couto – the UEM Rector and by the Minister of Science and Technology, Venâncio Massingue.

MISA launches John Manyarara prize
The Southern Africa Social Communication Institute (MISA) proceeds, today at the National Syndicate of Journalists (SNJ), with the launching of John Manyarara Investigative Journalism Prize of the Southern Africa Region.
Mozlink workshop, focus on SME performance
This workshop will take place on the 13th of April, 2007 at Hotel Avenida in Maputo and will discuss the performance of a group of 10 SMEs that are part of this linkage program on four key areas (management, quality, maintenance and safety).
Austral Bank gives support in social area
The Austral Bank and the Office of the queen (President’s wife) signed an agreement yesterday on the partnership in the social area.
The Republic President’s wife, Maria da Luz Guebuza, met with Delegate Administrator of the Bank, Paul T. Nice, with whom they discussed the subject.
Citizenship single Identification Number
The Project with the purpose of the adopting a Single Identification Number was launched in August last year and has been finalized having to be submitted to the Ministers Council for Approval within this month.
Singapore supports Education
The Singapore Delegation from the Ministry of education signed a commitment yesterday at a meeting the Mozambican Minister of Education and Culture, Aires Ali, in order to support the sector mainly in the training and management of the education institutions.
The Delegation that includes the World Bank staff is in Mozambique in order to exchange experinces focusing on the Technical and Professional Education.
Japan offers scholarships
The Japanese government has scholarships for the period 2008/9 for Masters and PhD courses in various areas of knowledge in that Asian country.
The applications must be submitted to the Ministry of Education & Culture (MEC) until 25th of May, having the candidates to present the required documents that include the final average mark as well as the dissertation thesis theme. According to the MEC, the applicants must be 35 years old, the minimum until 1st of April next year.

The Airport expands its infrastructures
The Aeroportos de Moçambique, EP company, launches today for the first time a stone for modernization project and expansion of Maputo International Airport under the scope of the programs designed by the company administration including the modernization and expansion of the infrastructures.
The first stone launching ceremony will include cultural moment and expects the participation of many local entities.

Millenium Development Objectives Achievement
Mozambique requires an annual increase of one hundred million American dollars in order to comply with the Millennium Development Objectives in the Education area.
