China will announce new package of Support to Mozambique
The Chinese Deputy-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Zhai Jun said in Beijing that President, Hu Jintao, will announce new plans of support to Mozambique during his official.

Maputo hosts an International Council for Science meeting
The Ministry of Science and Technology (MCT) and Mozambique Scientific Survey Association (AICIMO), will officially launch the organization of 29th General Assembly of ICSU (International Council for Science) on the 18th of January in Maputo.

Mozambique is the member of the organization since 1999, being represented by AICIMO, founded in 1995.

Reabilitation of EN1
The (EN1) road between Muxúnguè and Inchope with 154 km of extension will be naded to the Government completely rehabilited before the end of February.
Moma Minerals Exploration
Moma Minerals Heavy Sands - the Irish Kenmare Moma Risort Consortium, in Moma district, in Nampula province that invested about 460 million dollars starts-up with the extraction and processing of heavy sands. The extraction of ilminite, zircon and rutile in Topuito region starts-up in mid-January and the factory starts-up with its processing and concentration of minerals activities in February.
12 million Dollars were applied for the electricity supply to the project in the construction 110 KVA line from Nampula substation to the project at an extension of approximately 200 Km.
The project is foreseeing the construction of 146 houses in conventional material to accommodate families re-settled from Namalope, the area to be covered by the project.
Official figures depict that about 700 thousand tones of ilminite, 55 thousand of zircon and 18 thousand of rutile will be the minerals to be exported annually. The potential markets are: South Africa, Japan, United States, France and England. These minerals shall supply industries producing paints, cars and aeronautic.

Single Visa for SADC
The Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) will introduce a Single Visa System in 2008, two years before the World Football Cup to take place in South Africa in 2010.
The announcement was brought to public last week by Zimbabwean Minister of Tourism and Environment, Francis Nhema. This aims to allow tourists and football amateurs visit freely other countries of the region.
According to Francis Nhema, the SADC Tourism Ministers believe that with the introduction of the Single Visa, this may stimulate the activity in the region.

Good Comercialization of Cashew in the northern region
Cabo Delgado, Nampula and Zambézia provinces commercialized 32.7 thousand tones of cashew until mid December 2006 of which 75 thousand tones planned for the present campaign ending in March next year.
Following the figures from Instituto de Fomento do Caju (INCAJU), Nampula has commercialized 20 thousand tones against 45 thousand tones planned for the present agriculture campaign launched in those provinces on the 15th of October. In Zambezia province 7,400 thousand tones established as a target have already been commercialized. At the moment, eight thousand tones of cashew are ready to be exported to India next week.
However, as from the projections, Nampula may not reach the target of 45 thousand tones of cashew planned. Nampula will only commercialize 35 thousand tones due to the strong winds that destroyed the flowers of the many cashew trees besides thousands that have been affected by un-controlled burnings.
The statistic figures on commercialization depict that Cabo Delgado province commercialized more than four thousand tones, Nampula, 29 thousand, Zambezia, 11 thousand, Manica and Sofala 6,500 thousand, Inhambane, 5 thousand, Gaza 6 thousand and Maputo 196 tones.
